Francesco Cazzaro

I am a PhD student at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya part of the INTERACT project funded by the European Research Council (ERC). I conduct research in Natural Language Processing under the supervision of Ariadna Quattoni and the co-supervision of Xavier Carreras. Previously I obtained a master in Computer Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Padova with thesis advisor Giorgio Satta. If you want to contact me feel free to send me an email.


I am enthusiastic about the recent advances in Machine Learning and AI and strive to contribute to future developement in this thriving field. My main area of interest lies in Natural Language Understanding, Compositional Generalization, Language Models and Semantic Parsing. Besides, I'm also drawn by Structured Prediction and Active Learning. Alongside Deep Learning I like to dabble with Spectral Learning from time to time.
